The AC current is what our entire electrical infrastructure is built around. Today we have an entire industry build around producing, transporting, and selling electricity. Our entire electrical system revolves around the Alternating current, form the massive steel towers holding hundreds of huge cable, to the huge transformers and switching stations, to the billowing smoke stacks of a coal fire plant, to the single thin wire strung along thin wooden poles alongside a country road. The Alternating current allows us to have cheap, affordable electricity in every home and business. Beyond that, it powers all of our appliances, from our toasters, to our televisions, to our computers. Almost every electronic device we have is powered by the alternating current. We owe nearly all of our comforts, our luxuries,, out tools, even our very livelihoods, to electricity, and therefore the alternating current.
